I went for a ride on Indian Independence Day. I found a bike repair shop, where I had my fender straightened out for 5 rupees (about 12 cents.) Can you imagine in the states, "Hey could you please fix my fender, I'll give you 12 cents..."
I biked along Carter road, which boarders the Arabian sea. It's about 5 minutes from where I live. A lot of garbage collects here during monsoon time, but I've heard that it clears up around December. Not a lot of other anecdotes to go with these pictures, sorry.

12 cents for a repair! I laughed.
I look forward to hearing more of your adventures.
We'll have Skype running soon and Holly and I will give you a chat.
Hey Senrick!
You probably will be surprised to hear from me. Your adventure sounds so fun, I am a bit jealous. I was thinking about you recently as I ran into Jamie Rolof (your student teacher) on Saturday and told her of your travels to India. She is working in the insurance industry. I am ready for Humanities (I think). It will not be the same without you...I will be checking on your adventure if you don't mind.

You should post some pics of your apt. :)
With love from Minnesota Sol,
We've been thinking about you as we've watched the Olympic coverage of men & women's BEACH and INDOOR games. Our U.S. teams did awesome and it was so exciting to watch them play.
I read where cricket is the post popular sport in India but that volleyball is played at the schools and collges there. Here's hoping you will get to participate while you are there!
I was looking at a web site about "CHOWPATTY BEACH" in Mumbai. Is that close to you? Wondering if there are any volleyball nets set up in the sand there?!?!
I'm sure you are busy preparing for your first day of school there at ASB. We are very PROUD of you Sol...and we admie your adventurous spirit!!
Looking forward to reading your next journal entry.
P.S. Would you send your mailing address. This Aunt might want to use the postal service to contact you someday!
Love, AUnt Pat & Uncle Jay
12 cents! That's nuts. Paul's friend was telling us last night that Mumbai has just surpassed NYC as the most expensive city in the world. Guess not for services rendered, huh?
